The 12V 1500A electrolytic degreasing power supply provides DC for an electrocleaning stage used before coating or other surface treatment. The workpiece polarity must be defined because anodic cleaning, cathodic cleaning and periodic-reverse cleaning have different material and safety boundaries.

| Cooling and enclosure | Selected from output power, duty cycle, ambient temperature, installation environment and available cooling conditions. |
Polarity and Process Boundary
In anodic electrocleaning, the workpiece is positive and oxygen evolves at its surface. In cathodic electrocleaning, the workpiece is negative and hydrogen evolution can increase cleaning action but may create hydrogen-embrittlement risk for sensitive high-strength materials. Periodic reversal requires confirmed forward/reverse times, dead time and final polarity.
Do not infer polarity or automatic reversal from the general term “electrolytic degreasing.” The material, contamination, cleaning solution and downstream process determine the approved sequence.
Information Required for Quotation
- Workpiece material, hardness, heat treatment and hydrogen sensitivity.
- Oil/contamination type, cleaning solution, temperature and treatment objective.
- Anodic, cathodic or periodic-reverse sequence, including final polarity.
- Effective area, current density, treatment time and electrode spacing.
- Ventilation, gas safety, tank interlocks, daily duty and local AC supply.
Configuration Boundary
This page confirms the published DC rating and application only. Cooling method, enclosure grade, control interface, ramp profile, timer, ampere-hour control, pulse operation, polarity reversal, communication protocol and any special ripple limit are optional project items only when confirmed in writing. They are not included by default.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the workpiece always negative?
No. Electrocleaning may be anodic, cathodic or periodically reversed depending on the material and process.
Is automatic reversal included?
Not by default. The complete sequence must be confirmed before it becomes part of the power supply specification.
How is 1500 A selected?
Use effective area and approved current density, then check the maximum production load and duty.
