The 18V 2000A hard chrome plating rectifier is a low-voltage, high-current DC power source for industrial hard chromium deposition. It is intended for hard chrome work, where coating thickness, wear performance and process stability matter; it should not be selected only from decorative chrome terminology.
Published Rating

Application Fit
Hard chrome rectifier sizing starts with the effective plated area and the process current density. The basic current estimate is I = J × A, where I is rectifier current, J is the required current density and A is the effective plated area processed at one time. The rectifier should then be checked against loading variation, fixture losses and the required operating margin.
The required working voltage depends on bath conductivity, electrode spacing, temperature, anode arrangement, fixtures and busbar losses. GAOHUI project experience commonly places hard chrome systems in a higher voltage range than many decorative plating lines; the published 18 V rating must still be checked against the actual tank voltage under load.
Data Required for Selection
- Confirm hard chrome rather than decorative chrome, plus substrate and coating objective.
- Provide effective plated area per load, target current density, coating thickness and process time.
- Provide tank operating voltage under load, bath chemistry, electrode spacing and busbar arrangement.
- State shifts per day, continuous operating time, ambient conditions and installation location.
- List only the control functions that the production process actually requires.
Configuration Boundary
This page confirms the published DC rating and application only. Cooling method, enclosure grade, control interface, ramp profile, timer, ampere-hour control, pulse operation, polarity reversal, communication protocol and any special ripple limit are optional project items only when confirmed in writing. They are not included by default.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can 2000 A be selected from tank volume?
No. Current is primarily selected from effective plated area and current density, then checked against the loading plan and electrical losses.
Does an 18 V rating mean the process always runs at 18 V?
No. It is the published output rating. Actual operating voltage changes with the bath, spacing, fixtures, temperature and load.
Is polarity reversal included?
Not by default. If the process specification requires reversal, provide the current, timing and sequence for engineering confirmation.
