24V 2000A Copper Electrowinning Rectifier

Custom 24V 2000A copper electrowinning rectifier with 48 kW output, adjustable CC/CV control and configurable cooling, communication and enclosure options.

The 24V 2000A Copper Electrowinning Rectifier supplies 48 kW of adjustable DC power for copper recovery cells, hydrometallurgical skids and plant upgrades. Its high-current output is suited to parallel cathode area, while the 24V range can accommodate the loaded voltage of a cell group and its busbar connections.

Turning dissolved copper into cathode product

In electrowinning, copper ions in solution are deposited at the cathode under controlled current. Stable electrical input supports a repeatable deposition rate and helps operators maintain the selected current density. Cathode quality and recovery efficiency also depend on copper concentration, acidity, impurities, temperature, circulation, additives, electrode spacing and short-circuit control.

Two ways to size the current

When current density and total active cathode area are known, current is calculated from their product. When production capacity is the starting point, the required current can be estimated from Faraday’s law and then adjusted for actual current efficiency and operating hours. Both methods should be compared before selecting the 2000A ceiling.

Voltage and cell connection

Series-connected cells add voltage, while parallel branches add current. A useful enquiry therefore includes the number of cells, connection diagram, working voltage per cell, busbar distance and maximum acceptable voltage drop. The 24V output should cover the complete loaded circuit rather than only the nominal electrochemical voltage.

Production controls

Soft current ramping, ampere-hour accumulation, shift records, remote setpoints, alarms, PLC communication and cooling interlocks can be configured. Custom output from 1–1000V and 1–100,000A is available for metal recovery applications.
