Heavy-Duty Tinning Rectifier (12V/2500A) for Tin Plating

GAOHUI Premium Industrial High-Frequency IGBT Rectifier Power Supply.

This power supply is engineered as the industrial backbone for continuous strip tinning lines and matte tin process operations. It rejects generic inverter designs in favor of a fully scalable IGBT topology, delivering the ripple-free current density required for high-speed PCB busbar plating and wire tinning applications. As a dedicated industrial high frequency rectifier factory, we have eliminated the compromises found in multi-purpose units to provide a modular solution that directly addresses the output stability and corrosion resistance demands of a modern tin line.
Part 1 Key Features & Engineering Highlights
Modular Drawer Architecture The rectifier utilizes a hot-swappable 20U cabinet design. Each power drawer contains a single IGBT module with independent cooling. This allows you to expand from 1500A to 10,000A+ on site without cabinet replacement, and a failed drawer can be swapped in under 5 minutes without downtime or tools.
Active Ripple Cancellation Unlike standard SCR units delivering 15-25% ripple, this unit employs patented digital feedback loops to achieve a steady 0.5% ripple. This eliminates “burned” tin deposits and ensures mirror-bright surfaces on matte tin process lines.
Cold-Forged Busbars The internal copper pathways are not simple castings. They are CNC-machined, silver-plated busbars rated for 3000A continuous duty. This prevents hotspot degradation at the 2500A limit, a critical factor when comparing heavy-duty DC power supply price against long-term maintenance costs.

Part 3 Advanced Built-in Protection Systems
This module is a self-monitoring fortress. It deploys six layers of protective logic that operate at hardware speed to prevent catastrophic failure in high-cycle tin plating environments.
– Ingress & Corrosion Protection All air intake filters are coated with an anti-Mist polymer. Every PCB is triple-conformal-coated to resist the acidic vapors typical of continuous strip tinning operations. Unlike standard units, there is no exposed copper trace within the air path.
– Over-Current & Short-Circuit Gate A dedicated DSP monitors the IGBT collector-emitter saturation voltage (Vce(sat)) 10,000 times per second. If the melt-through threshold is detected, the main breaker trips in under 2 microseconds, preventing IGBT shrapnel damage.
– Thermal Derating Curve The system does not just “shut down” at 50°C. It gradually derates current, dropping 1% per degree until 65°C, then gracefully folds back. This keeps the line running in ambient >50°C conditions without a hard crash.
– Phase Loss & Undervoltage Lockout The control board samples the incoming 3-phase voltage. If one phase drops below 200V (415VAC units) or frequency deviates by ±5Hz, the output is disconnected within 500ms to protect the power stage.
Part 4 Target Industrial Applications
This 12V/2500A platform is not a “general purpose” machine. It is purpose-built for high-cycle density processes where current uniformity determines final yield.
– Continuous Strip Tinning This unit excels on hot-dip and electro-tinning lines where the strip moves at 60m/min. Its low ripple ensures that tin stays evenly deposited across the entire 1000mm strip width, eliminating edge-build defect rates below 1%.
– Matte Tin Process For PCB busbar plating needing a dull, corrosion-resistant finish, the unit’s high frequency switching (above 20kHz) prevents the brightener from being burned. Lines using this rectifier observe a 15% reduction in tin carbonate consumption.
– Wire Tinning & Connectors Especially suited for litz wire and heavy-duty (500mcm) cables. The 2500A capability handles bulk barrel loads, while the soft-start feature prevents wire snapping during initial immersion.
Part 5 Customization and Tailored Engineering Services
As a IGBT rectifier manufacturer with a dedicated in-house engineering team, this unit is 100% configurable before shipment. We do not sell “off-the-shelf” bins. We sell custom-calibrated machines.
– Voltage & Current Tailoring Our factory can deliver any combination from 1V-1000V DC and 1A-100,000A. Input is always AC (1-phase or 3-phase). For this tin plating line, we can add a sealed high-voltage secondary (up to 24V) for stripping cycles.
– Integrated Process Modules You can select from a library of 15 factory-installed modules:
– Programmable Process Timer (0-999s per step)
– Multi-Stage Profile Control (up to 8 current steps with ramping)
– Ampere-Minute Integrator (for precise deposit thickness down to 0.1 micron)
– Automatic Reverse Polarity Switch (for periodic reversal, e.g., 1 sec forward / 0.1 sec reverse)
– Communication & Remote Control Standard RS485 Modbus RTU and Ethernet/IP. Optional Profinet, DeviceNet, or 4-20mA analog interface. Our PLC can talk directly to your Mitsubishi or Siemens line automation.
– Pulse Functions The base unit includes pulse mode from 1-3000Hz adjustable with 0-100% duty cycle. For wire applications, we offer a special High-Frequency Pulse Option (up to 30kHz) which reduces porosity in silver and tin finishes.
– Cabinetry & Environment We stock 304SS and custom powder-coated 316L enclosures. For coil lines exposed to tin fluoborate mist, we offer a full NEMA 4X stainless steel chassis. Consult with our engineers for a free custom current voltage rectifier quote.
