Dual-Pulse Power for Alkaline Copper Plating
This 12V 300A dual-pulse alkaline copper rectifier combines a compact horizontal power unit, water cooling and an intelligent remote controller. It is intended for copper-plating processes that use a defined positive and negative pulse recipe rather than a simple assumption that every copper bath needs the same waveform.
The published 12V and 300A values describe the available DC envelope. Peak current, average current, forward and reverse timing, frequency and duty must match the bath supplier’s approved pulse program.

Why the Pulse Recipe Matters
Alkaline copper baths, acid copper baths and pyrophosphate copper systems do not share one universal current-density or pulse window. A dual-pulse supply can provide forward and reverse pulse sections, but the electrical recipe must work together with bath chemistry, additives, agitation, temperature and the target deposit.
Do not specify this unit only by “300A pulse power.” A useful quotation distinguishes maximum forward current, reverse current, average current, pulse times or frequency, duty, polarity sequence and the acceptable transition between recipe stages.
Simple Current and Voltage Selection
Start with the total effective area energized in one load and multiply it by the process supplier’s approved current density. For pulse plating, identify whether the calculated value is an average or peak requirement. Include internal surfaces, double-sided work and simultaneous fixtures where applicable.
Loaded voltage depends on the copper bath, electrode spacing, anode arrangement, fixtures, contacts, cables and busbars. Existing equipment data should include the normal and highest stable loaded voltage, not only an open-circuit reading.
Water Cooling and Compact Installation
The W420 × D420 × H170 mm horizontal enclosure is useful where the power unit must fit near a small plating line or under a dedicated control area. Water temperature, flow, pressure, water quality and connection direction still need to be defined, together with the acceptable return-water temperature during the longest production cycle. Leave access for cooling connections, DC conductors and service work.
Because the rated output is slightly above 3.5 kW, the incoming supply is configured for 380 V or 415 V rather than a 220 V high-load arrangement.
Customization
Voltage, current, cooling connections, remote-controller layout and pulse program can be configured from the approved plating recipe. Timing, recipe storage, line interlocks and communications can be discussed when the required signals, sequence and acceptance method are supplied.
Information Needed for a Quotation
- Exact alkaline copper chemistry and additive supplier
- Effective plated area, load arrangement and target deposit
- Approved forward/reverse peak and average current
- Pulse frequency or timing, duty and polarity sequence
- Normal and maximum loaded voltage
- Cooling-water conditions, AC supply and required remote controls
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one standard pulse recipe be used for every alkaline copper bath?
No. The recipe must come from the bath and process requirements. The power supply is configured to reproduce the required electrical sequence.
Does the 300A rating mean 300A average current?
Not automatically. The quotation must distinguish peak, base and average current so the hardware rating and displayed values match the intended waveform.
Can the unit operate as ordinary DC?
The required operating modes should be stated when ordering. If both pulse and DC operation are required, include the switching method and process sequence in the specification.
