“Metal recovery” is an umbrella purchasing term. The project must be classified as electrowinning, electrorefining or another electrochemical route before final selection. Current depends on active area, allowed current density and recovery target; voltage depends on cell chemistry, spacing, topology and connection losses.
Use process data from the selected metal and electrolyte. Do not combine current density from one chemistry with cell voltage or current efficiency from another.

- Identify the recovery route, target metal, feed source and required product form.
- Provide electrolyte composition, concentration, impurities, pH and temperature.
- Provide electrode materials, active area, current density, cell count and connection.
- State recovery target, current efficiency, operating schedule and maintenance cycle.
- Provide loaded cell voltage, maximum voltage, busbar losses and local AC supply.
