12V 500A Barrel Plating DC Power Supply

12V 500A barrel plating DC power supply. Confirm coating metal, barrel load, contacts, chemistry, working current, voltage and production cycle.

The 12V 500A barrel plating DC power supply is intended for small parts processed in a rotating barrel. Barrel plating is a production method rather than a deposited metal, so the coating material and bath chemistry must be confirmed before the electrical operating point is selected.

Published Rating

Rated DC output 12 V, 500 A
Primary application Barrel electroplating
AC input for quotation Specify AC 380 V or 415 V and local frequency. Final input configuration requires confirmation.
Main regulation mode Constant-current or constant-voltage main mode, selected for the process. Final control configuration requires confirmation.
Cooling and enclosure Selected from output power, duty cycle, ambient temperature, installation environment and available cooling conditions.

Barrel Plating Selection

Parts move and make intermittent electrical contact inside the barrel. Effective energized area cannot be calculated simply by multiplying the geometric area of every part by the total quantity. Barrel loading, perforation, contact method, part movement and the chemistry supplier’s operating data must be considered together.

The required voltage includes the electrolyte, barrel contact path, electrode spacing, fixtures and busbar losses. Provide loaded operating values from the line or a pilot test whenever possible.

Information Required for Quotation

  • Deposited metal, substrate, bath chemistry and supplier operating window.
  • Part size, quantity per barrel, barrel loading mass and processing time.
  • Barrel construction, perforation, contact method and anode arrangement.
  • Approved current density or measured working current and loaded voltage.
  • Number of barrels, daily batches, ambient conditions and local AC supply.

Configuration Boundary

This page confirms the published DC rating and application only. Cooling method, enclosure grade, control interface, ramp profile, timer, ampere-hour control, pulse operation, polarity reversal, communication protocol and any special ripple limit are optional project items only when confirmed in writing. They are not included by default.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is barrel plating current calculated like rack plating?

Not directly. Moving parts and intermittent contacts change the effective energized area and current distribution.

Does “barrel plating” identify the deposited metal?

No. Zinc, nickel, copper and other coatings may use barrels, each with a different chemistry window.

Is pulse operation required?

No. Use DC or pulse operation only as specified by the validated plating process.

See the complete barrel plating rectifier range, or send the process data for a rectifier selection review.
